Diane Hamm, Quilter and lecturer
I offer three lectures on historical topics, and two "how to" lectures for dealing with certain quilting challenges.
"Whimsical Quilts" explores historical and modern-day quilts with humor or satirical elements, illustrated with sample quilts to tell their stories.
"The History of Applique in America" is a review of applique styles developed in the United States; this lecture uses sample quilts but also requires a projector set up.
In "Whose Style Is It?" Diane explores quilting and applique styles identified with specific countries, regions or cultures, and the stories behind them. Sample quilts illustrate this lecture.
"Using Panels" gives the participants ideas for incorporating fabric panels into their quilts. Panel quilts are shown to demonstrate the options.
"Rescue Me" details the challenges and rewards of tackling other people's abandoned projects. Quilts made from unfinished tops, orphan blocks, and leftovers from fabric kits are shown.

Digital Presentation Setup
Trunk Show Display
Diane provides her own laptop and remote. Host guilds simply provide a digital projector, screen, and a microphone for larger rooms.
Two large tables are required to display antique and modern quilts for close-up, post-lecture examination.
All lectures are available in-person or via high-definition virtual streaming, complete with multi-camera close-ups of textile details.
